In 2007 the PHPDA provided more than $2 million to support health care access for the uninsured in Seattle – King County.
The PHPDA provided $886,000 to support specialty care services for the uninsured through a contract with Pacific Medical Centers. PMC served 907 individual patients in 2007. In addition, over $100,000 in grants and other assistance was provided to King County Project Access, supporting the referrals of 595 patients to free specialty care services.

An additional $670,000 helped fund interpreter services at more than 9,405 medical appointments through the federal Medicaid Match program for Medicaid patients. (PHPDA contributions total 50% of this funding.)

The PHPDA dedicated other funds to new initiatives, including a research study to examine gaps and problems in the referral system network, and the development of a database of local medical interpreters for use by public medical organizations.
