Grant funds will support NoHLA staff and a consultant in health economics in researching existing county-based programs (CBPs) that offer health coverage to uninsured immigrants, evaluating promising practices and analyzing how Washington and King County’s population, existing programs, potential financial offsets, and other factors would facilitate or create challenges for adapting such programs locally. A report detailing findings will be drafted and NoHLA will engage in outreach to disseminate the report to advocates, government agency staff, and policymakers to consider developing similar programs in Washington and its counties.
