Grantee: The Hope Heart Institute

Timeframe:   January 2017-December 2017   |   Amount:   $25,000

PHPDA funds will assist in developing a Heart Restart CPR/AED train-the-trainer program for Promotoras in South Park. The overall goal of this project is to increase the number of underserved Latinos in South Park who are trained in CPR and how to use an AED. To meet this goal, Hope Heart’s specific aims are:
1) Train and certify 10 South Park Promotoras in CPR,
2) Have all 10 newly trained Promotoras attend a 2-day American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor Training, and
3) Support the newly certified Promotoras in holding CPR trainings in their community, reaching an anticipated 150 community members.
